Do you still need to disable crossfire mode in order to watch a DVD properly with new ATI HD 2000 cards? You know how before I read in a lots of sites that when you were running two cards in crossfire the video quality wasn't that good. You had to go to control center and disable it. Does the same problem persists with new HD 2600, 2900 series of video cards?

No, at least not for the 2900 xt series.
Crossfire has improved for the ati r600s. No more y-cable as well. It's like nvidia sli now.
