Do torrents run slower if there is more than one torrent?

The simple answer is yes. Each torrent is bidding for a % of your available download speed. Thus the more your are downloading the more its going to have to share with the others.
Yes, unless you have your torrent client set up to download one torrent at a time. The overall speed should not be lower, but your bandwidth is divided between/among all downloading torrents.
It depends, if your internet is fast enough to max out both torrents then no, but if it isn't (It won't be if you're on dialup) then yes, having more than one torrent will make each one thats downloading go noticably slower.
