Graphics card to small gamer?
And was wondering what graphic card would suit me best.
I dont want to have a stupidly expensive one, but i dont want to have a stupidly cheap one.
I want one around £50 maybe, which will fit in my PCI-E slot on my motherboard.
The card i want has to be able to play warrock and need for speed at a fairly good level, and not make the game lag.
I've looked at the nvidia 8500 , which is directx 10, so was thinkin if it would last me long, or not.
And the card i get prefurably will be able to play maybe the next need for speed which comes out as well, as i dont really want to change the card for a year or so.

UK gets screwed over in computer components costs. What you would get for 50 GBP in Britain, you'd get for about $80 here. And what's worse I can't look for any rebates because they wouldn't be the same ones available in the UK.
Unless you're planning on upgrading to Vista soon and are going to want to play DX10 games in the next year, I would stay away from DX10. An 8500GT is a very poorly performing card. nVidia changed the numbers and the endings to trick people. The 8500GT is the 8K generation's equivalent of the 7300GS or the 6200. I'd advise an X1650Pro. You should be able to find one for about 50 GBP. However for another few pounds, you could get a 7600GT, which I think is a much better choice.

Well an basic nvidia geforce 8 series card is well within your reach. They cost about $60-$120 on newegg. They support direct x 10.

wow for what you are playing you can go out and get ANY card that has 256mb RAM i am playing new games on my 5200! i recomend maybe a 6200 with 256 RAM.
look for a computer shop you feel comfortable with and ask the shop person to recommend a graphics card and say your budget.
important: ask if can return within 7 days if the graphics card got problem.
keep your receipt.
