If someone put a very strong magnet on the side of my computer where the motherboard is; would it ruin it?

I think someone messed up my computer on purpose. I believe they used a powerful magnet to ruin my motherboard. If this could happen could you prove that is what caused the problem?

Answers:
A MAGNET WOULD NOT DAMAGE YOUR MOTHERBOARD
A HUGE SUPER STRONG MAGNET MAY DAMAGE DATA ON THE HARD DRIVE BUT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE AN INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH ONE TO GO THROUGH THE CASE OF YOUR PC AND THE SHIELDING ON THE HARD DRIVE!
THERE ARE TWO VERY VERY STRONG RARE EARTH MAGNETS INSIDE THE HARD DRIVE ANYWAY SO IF THEY DON'T CAUSE A PROBLEM I DOUBT A DOMESTIC MAGNET WOULD

LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR THE CAUSE MY FRIEND
