Do I inevitability a better Video card OR More RAM...?
Answer:
You have plenty of run into.
Your current video card was a low-mid catalogue card when it was released hindmost in 2002.
You can Imagine what have changed in 5 years.
To play games smoothly, you are going to want to upgrade your video card to something newer. You can receive an Nvidia 7900gs for only something like $130 and it is a great card for the money.
well, if you hold the 9250 (which i also have) its a 256mb PCI Video Card. yes, vista also give me a 1.0 for that. if you're gonna be doing some more intense gaming, the GeForce video cards are great fore that.
1.5 is seriously of ram, i'm awkwardly going to say its the video card 9250 is resembling old institution by now.
U already hold more than enuf ram, is ur video card is integrated within ur motherboard,if it is then u unambiguously need a PCI-E include on video card . I just bought 7600GT and very soon my system flies, i have pretty much one and the same configuration as urs except i have 1 GB bump. First make sure u own the PCI-E slot available on ur motherboard before u buy the video card
Good luck
You look approaching running vista... Which slowdown almost everything, as Vista works better with 256mb video cards...
So fly back to Xp sp2 and your performances should increase for a time. Enough for Halo at least.
You particularly need to upgrade the video card. Best chance would be to go near a 256MB card. You should also look into upgrading the CPU. Something about 3GHz should be accurate.
Get a better graphics card.
Since you are playing intense applications, get more RAM running at 667MHz-1000MHz.
I recommend two pieces of Kingston low-latency 1GB PC-6400 surrounded by 4-4-4-12 operation and the ATI CrossFire.
Simplest answer "you have to switch your video card" you ram is enf. check if you motherboard hold agp and pci-e slots if yes, then you can move about for any card of course. If no afterwards best pci card out is "Visiontek X1300 256 mb pci" it supports shader model 3.0.Greater then Ur present card
Try the push first...ram help the computer to run fast. Video card is more on graphics.
I don't know how you get the ancient 9250 in in that in the first place (it didn't come next to the PC did it??) Yep, You just have need of a new graphics card. Anything $250+ should do more than ample.
Oh and defrag hard drives regularly and free up closely of space for page.sys (virtual memory) for gaming. You won't need much else if you upgrade your graphics card at most minuscule for a year or two.
