I've got problems with my toshiba MK4019GAX external hard drive!!?

my toshiba MK4019GAX external hard drive's front light goes red as soon as i connect it to my windows xp professional and the computer says that there's a problem. help!!

Answers:
I would bring that external hard drive back to the manufacturer and get a new one. that one is bad :)
