Unfortunately, no.
it happened to a friend of mine to her brand new sony bravia. She was playing too much Super Paper Mario on Wii.
You can only attempt to fix it a little. Set a screensaver as an all white image and leave it on low brightness for the length of time the image that was burned into the screen was on it. So if it was over a year of burning, than you will need to spend a lot of time compensating. Also try to rotate the white screen with an all red screen then all blue screen, ect. Not much you can do to totally get rid of it though.
Screen burn in is not normal with CRT and LCD monitors. It can happen with Plasma where the TV stations display their logos, but burn in was a serious problem associated with older phosphorus single colour screens in the eighties. Maybe you're mistaking burn in with gauzing which is a white foggy area appearing on your CRT monitor screen. Most modern monitors have a degauzing option in the menu, so try looking there. Alternatively, you can take the monitor to a reputable TV repairer and they will degauze it in a mater of seconds. They may not even charge. If it's an LCD monitor, take it back to the dealer.Good luck, but please use the box under the question to give us more details about your problem. it helps you to get a more accurate answer. (See how I wasted my time.)
Kev says nope, you can't do anything about it. Sorry, make sure you aren't there when he comes home. Did you play a lot of Wii on it? That is what one of the posters said.
