So I am able to replace my CD drive with a new DVD drive but when I start up my com with just the DVD drive, it just starts with the load menu like, the blue bars crossing the screen with Windows XP 2000 and nothing else. Then when it gets to the username screen, I can't move my mouse and it just does nothing. Can somebody please help? I installed the DVD drive so as to play GTA: San Andreas and I know I can have both drives installed at the same time, but I can't move my mouse with the DVD drive in, therefore I can't install it until I know how.
Please help.
Answers:
Check the jumpers in the back. It may be on Master which would conflict with your hard drive if its on the same ide ribbon. try setting it to Slave or Cable Select
