A central processing component (CPU), or sometimes simply processor, is the component in a digital computer that interprets computer program instructions and processes notes. CPUs provide the fundamental digital computer trait of programmability, and are one of the necessary components found within computers of any era, along with primary storage and input/output services. A CPU that is manufactured as a single integrated circuit is usually certain as a microprocessor. Beginning in the mid-1970s, microprocessors of ever-increasing complexity and power little by little supplanted other designs, and today the term "CPU" is usually applied to some type of microprocessor.

The phrase "middle processing unit" is a description of a certain class of logic machines that can execute computer programs. This broad definition can slickly be applied to many impulsive computers that existed long before the residence "CPU" ever came into rife usage. However, the term itself and its initialism hold been contained by use in the computer industry at most minuscule since the early 1960s (Weik 1961). The form, design and finishing of CPUs have changed dramatically since the earliest examples, but their fundamental operation have remained much the same.

Early CPUs be custom-designed as a part of a larger, usually one-of-a-kind, computer. However, this costly method of designing custom CPUs for a selective application has largely given process to the development of mass-produced processors that are suited for one or plentiful purposes. This standardization trend generally begin in the era of discrete transistor mainframes and minicomputers and have rapidly accelerate with the popularization of the integrated circuit (IC). The IC have allowed increasingly complex CPUs to be designed and manufactured in impressively small spaces (on the order of millimeters). Both the miniaturization and standardization of CPUs hold increased the presence of these digital devices in modern existence far beyond the limited application of faithful computing machines. Modern microprocessors appear in everything from automobiles to cell phones to children's toys.

Answer: The CPU, or Central Processing Unit performs the calculation and logic functions of the computer. CPU's only make the most basic of functions, such as adding together the contents of a memory location to the contents of a CPU "register", or comparing the contents of one register to the contents of another register and "jump" on a specified condition such as "equal to", "greater than" or "less than". CPU's are also competent to initiate transfer of generous blocks of data, read or write notes to/from peripheral devices, and contained by general, study over system functions. Of course, this is an oversimplification of the power and function of the CPU, but it gives you an model of what is going on. CPU's have the size to perform frequent low level functions that are enhanced when added together into an application. If done correctly, the entire process is transparent to the user and adjectives you see is a well designed application.

cpu means inside processing unit.it is the biggest part of ur computer it consists adjectives ur hardware devices to run ur computer.It consists of Motherboard,processor,hard drives,floppy disk drives, cd roms,RAM and extendable slots for adjectives upgradation.
central processing element
CPU is central processing component, which is basic component of a PC assembly. It consists of hardwares approaching hard drive , floppy drive, disc drive, mother board, IC's and ports for connecting other components with CPU. All the facts processings and data storage are adjectives in CPU.
Central Processing Unit
Hi guye,
CPU stands 4 Central Processing Unit. Generally most individuals know that cpu is that little big cabinate included floppy drive, etc. But my dear it is not fact.
The certainty is that CPU is the PROCESSOR either it is of any company. Bcoz it is the heart of the system. It can process,rub, calculte the data or anything the input.
OK, Now U got the Fact,
Bye.
a cpu is

c=central
p=processing
u=unit
a CPU, it of late SENDS out info to the chipsets, and they are really important. i would fairly have a crappy cpu beside good chisets to some extent than a good cpu beside crappy chipsets. if u wanna get one, gain the new intel core duo. they work similar to a dream
