Do system Restore to the day on which it was working properly. Go to Start-Accesories-System Tools-System Restore to do it.

What make flash drive?, does it stop when you pull out the usb drive?, did you go into msconfig to see if it installed anything to run in the background?
What you should do is hit control alt delete and hit task list, then processes. Sort by CPU by clicking on the top of the column. See what's taking up the majority of the CPU and investigate it online.

check for viruses. It is verry possible that a virus is doing this. Open task manager and see what applications uses your cpu and memory. Identify those that seems to be suspicious and end task them. If this does not work i recomend to go to www.eset.com download the antivirus from here is free for 30 days and give it a scan. The last option is to format and reinstal you OS. If you have the posibilties and havin a new HDD take out the old HDD and install the OS on the new one and see if the problem persists.
first thing to do..on your computer key board.
press control alt delete at the same time..look under cpu and see what is using up your resources..when you see the culprit select it and click on end procese..dont forget to run anti spyware and antivirus programs that could be your broablem..
