I hold a samsung cd-rom sn- 124 and it won't read the disk i put contained by it.?

Check the date cable that is conected to it. If is installed ok. You enjoy a red part on it that own to go to the pin1 on the interface. If is ok check if is set properly to master or slave or cs acording to your mother board book. If you enjoy a HDD or smth else conected on the same facts cable you have to put one to master and the other device to slave. Check the bios if is see the cd-rom ok. If after all this is still out of use i recommend to go beside it to waranty to have a look. If is not have any waranty buy a new one is cheaper afterwards fix it. And buy smth else then samsung. TRy LG and go and get a dvd writer is about $40 or smaller number.
You can try a CD lens cleaner. But seem like the CDROM is unresponsive. Time to get a up to date one?
