Can having multiple hard disks on PC Slow down the performance of the system?

I have P-4, 2.66 ghz with two - 512 MB DDR RAM. I have 2 Hard disks- one is 80 GB SATA and the other is non SATA 20 GB.
I have 3 Drives - 1 DVD Writer, 1 CD Writer and Floppy Drive.
I want to intsall another Sata Hard Disk with Capcity of 230 or 250 GB. Will it slow down my PC ?
If it slows the PC having a 1 GB DDR RAM and Another of 512 RAM will bring the speed to normal as it was earlier ?
Any other options ?

You are used to work, teach, entertain, play the game and surf the Internet. When it continues for a long time, you must find that the speed of your PC becomes slower and slower and it is adding wasted time and inefficiency. My solution can help you to speed up PC, to make the system run faster and more stable, and to make more disk spaces. You will never have the idea that you update your PC or reinstall the system. It can save you money for hardware upgrades.

1. Uninstall any software applications including games which are not used every week. These may take up a lot of hard disk space and computer memory

2. Run disk cleanup and delete all unused files. Also run the disk defragmenter.

3. Check for disk errors, the HDD will be checked the next time the computer is started. This can take a 10-20 minutes.

4. Delete all cookies and temporary internet files cached on your computer. (Go to Internet Explorer -- Tools) . Deleting temporary internet files could take some time, if you do not clear your cache regularly. Also delete all history files.

5. Empty your recycle bin regularly . Also delete unused icons and shortcuts from your taskbar , desktop and other places.

Some users reflect that they don’t know the specific location where files should be cleaned up in, and are worried to delete system files by mistake, which makes the system impossible to operate normally.

Don’t worry, I can supply you several optimization software. Maybe you don’t think the optimization software can help you out of distress. But they are your right arms. They can clean temporary files and the registry and your privacy.Well adapted to computer users at different competence levels

However, if you don’t install optimization software, and clean the system in time, it can happen any minute that the system will stop working.

think about it all 3 drives have 2 b read in order 2 b used as far as the ram the speed has 2 be the same , if u have 1 thats fast & the other that is slower it will run at the slower speed.
No more hard drives wont slow you down simply because they exist. If your really trying to increase your performance you could increase your RAM to 2GB. Also... make sure the hard drive with the operating system on it is the fastest drive you have. Use that drive for op system and virtual memory only if possible. You can also just partition it off so that you have 10GB for the op sys and virtual memory and then make sure all software your loading up goes on one of the other drives when possible.

When you decide what drive is fastest run some testing software to determine which one is fastest, even though a manufacturer might claim that A is faster that B it isn't always the case in real life.

I've got 4 hard drives in my main computer and never noticed any speed issues as I was adding hard drives to it... In fact I'll probably be adding another drive or two over the next 6 months. Memory and a clean drive for the Op Sys is the key.
Another hard drive won't have any effect on the performance of your PC. It just increases your storage capacity. If you have a Windows system, then 1 gig of ram is fine, you probably don't need more and the amount of ram you have has nothing to do with your storage capacity.

The only thing you may need to be concerned about is to make sure your computer case has good cooling/airflow. Every powered piece of equipment that you put in there is a heat source and if your case lacks adequate cooling you could have instability problems due to overheating by adding an extra heat source. You can get a 500 gig hard drive for as little as 100 dollars online. If I were you, I wouldn't even bother hooking up the dinky little 20 gig drive. Just swap it out with a big one and use the 80 gig drive to backup your important documents/photos. It's always good to have physical redundancy for your important files, so that if 1 hard drive were to become corrupt, you still have your important data.
