I want to re install windows xp from disk ,,, i get a message , won't let me,, newer version on pc,,Help?

message says newer version on computer,, setup won't let me reinstall,, how do i get around this and be able to re install xp

my dear... this message is constantly want to indicate you that the files in the disk you are inserting is older or out dated... please insert a good disk which has newer version files..

You will have to boot to the CD instead of running the setup program from windows. Usually when you start your comptuer, there is a key to start a boot menu. Look in the upper right when the computer first turns on, it could be F12 or something similiar.

Once you boot to the CD, just run the installer from there.
Make sure you boot from the Windows CD
