the current drive if it is an RETAIL part it should come next to software to do that.if not travel to the manufacturer site and download their software...it is the easiest course to do that.

copy the data you want to hold CD preferred.. goto control panel administrative tools computer supervision and disk management within you can set the drives to the way you want only remember if you have the disk page set to (on) on the drive you want to remove you will have to disable it first up to that time you delete the partition..(it will not consent to you)
i would just reformat the old-fashioned drive for use as data storage. if it is an IDE drive redeploy the jumper to generate it a slave. do not have it hooked up while you install window to the new drive, as setup will dump system files to the slaved drive. you will also want to move your swap profile to the slaved drive, and make the min and max impossible to tell apart size in mb so it wont fragment. effortlessly done in system properties/advanced tab/virtual memory. if you do divider your new drive(no valid benefits) don't leave the swap database there, you wont see any ceremony increase unless it is on a different physical drive. hope this helps...
try beside partition sleight of hand, it can anything you want (almost ) with your partition and hard drivers in need losing your data.
My course of exploit would be to transfer the information to the new disk and the programs would remain on the elderly disk(otherwise u will have to shift the jumper settings).
