What is NTLDR?
Answers:
NTLDR refers to your O/S boot record and it seems that yours is corrupted, put in your windows xp installation disc and reboot and continue as though to install windows when you get to the section where you have the option to install or repair clic on repair, once in the repair console type in HELP and you will get a list of commands scroll to the bottom and type in FIXMBR it will ask you if you wish to rewrite the master boot record select yes then again scroll to the bottom and again type help and this time type FIXBOOT again confirm it once done type in exit the pc will then reboot and hopefully all will be ok.
PS BEFORE DOING ANY OF THIS GO INTO THE BIOS AND MAKE SURE THAT THE PC IS BOOTING FROM THE CORRECT DRIVE
NTLDR = NT Loader. It is used in Windows 2k/NT/XP/Vista systems. To fix this problem, follow these instructions.
1. Ensure that no additional storage media is plugged into the system, and ensure that your BIOS is configured to boot from your hard drive with Windows. If this doesn't work, follow step 2.
2. Insert your Windows Installation Disk, enter the recovery console, and type in the command fixmbr. If this doesn't work, follow step 3.
3. Insert your Windows Installation Disk, enter the install program, select to install on your partition where Windows is installed. Windows will prompt you to do a repair installation, and agree to repair your installationl. If this doesn't work, follow step 4.
4. Backup your information on your hard drive, then reformat the harddrive as NTFS using Windows Installation Disk, then proceed to install a clean copy of windows.
