Install Second Hard Drive and Wipe It?

Ok so my computer has Windows XP and has a 6 gb hard drive. My father has given me his old computer that is a Windows 98 and has a 9 gb hard drive. I am going to install the 9 gb on my computer and have two hard drives.

How do I wipe the 9 gb hard drive? Do I need to wipe it before I install it.?

Also I do not have Internet access on either my computer nor the one my father gave me.

Answers:
Before you install your father harddrive, Something you must know.
In every standard Motherboard, there are 2 IDE cable connector... IDE connector is using for Harddrive and CD ROM/DVD ROOM
and in Every IDE connector you can connect 2 Device, so you can connect 4 Device at the same time.

But there are a rule you must understand... in each IDE, there are one master device and one slave device...

so... if you want to connect 2 device in one cable, you must set your own harddrive as master and your father harddrive as a slave.

(to set master or slave, you can move the jumper on the harddrive, follow the instruction on the sticker / body of the harddrive / CD ROOM)

But if you want to set your father HDD as master, you must connect the harddrive at the second IDE, that mean you must have the new cable....

If you have a CD ROOM, My advice is connect your father harddrive as a slave at the same IDE as your harddrive

Better not join the IDE that CD ROOM has used. because It will reduce your father HDD read and write spead.

after the XP detach your father HDD, you can format the harddrive... (if you want to...)
You can wipe it after you install it by formatting and partitioning it. http://www.google.com/search?q=formattin...
