I just bought a new computer with a cd-burner on it. How do you know if a cd-r or cd-rw would work on it?

I read thru the manual to no avail and couldn't find an answer.

Answers:
if your cd drive is a cdrw drive then both cd-r and cd-rw will work on it. the only difference with a cd-r and a cd-rw is that cd-rw can be wiped of all data while cd-r's cannot.
A CD will Certainly work on a new computer, and if it doesn;t, i wold take it back as most computers come with DVD-ROM dirvies at least, if not, they have a DVD burner drive. I know there is a way to find that out, but I'm not sure. Maybe the easiest way would be to go to Device manager >Cd Drives hen google the name in teh panel.
