What's the easiest way to dispose a computer?

i have an old desktop that i realized i'm never going to use again & would like to get rid of it. however, i'm a little sensitive to the files i have in it & possibly making them public though nothing i have on it is still relevant to me. i don't even have the monitor to turn on the pc to wipe out the hard drive. what's the easiest way for me to dispose it then? looking for something that would have the same effect as chucking it over a cliff or sending it to the bottoom on the sea. thx for your suggestion.

Best thing to do for your hard drive is to just take it out of the case, open it up, and scratch the hell out of it. After that, check out the link below to safely dispose of your PC.
download a copy of gdisk run it, its a dod 7pass formatting system, once that is done try donating the machine to the local sally anne (battered womans shelter) or to the local trade school.
Leave it on your doorstep and as if by magic it will disappear. Try it on bin day, it'll go quicker.
A lot of communities now have free turn in recycling centers for electronics.
OPEN THE CASE ON THE OLD COMPUTER TAKE THE OLD HARD DRIVE OUT. RUN THE HARD DRIVE OVER WITH YOUR CAR ABOUT 10 TIMES.
GIVE THE HARD DRIVE TO SOME KIDS TO PLAY STREET HOCKEY WITH IT FOR A HOUR
TAKE TO A SALVAGE YARD WERE THEY HAVE THE OVER HEAD MAGNET. HAVE THEM HIT IT WITH THE MAGNET.
TAKE A SCREW DRIVER OPEN THE HARD DRIVE. (I KNOW YOU AL WAY HAVE WANTED TO) HAVE YOUR KIDS TOUCH THE DISK INSIDE. THE OIL ON THE HANDS WILL MAKE THE MEDIA UNREADABLE.
