PC Gaming Operating system and speed?

If I have 1 GB of RAM should I use windows Vista or windows XP for better performance

Answers:
Exactly as the previous answerer indicated. Windows Vista is just too new. Microsoft still has to tweak it, release the updates, and work out all the bugs with it.
XP is mature, and fully capable of your gaming needs =)

Plus, I don't see the point in having a new operating system, if your old programs won't work on it.

Right??

I found an interesting article for you. You know,
"One of Microsoft's big promises with Vista was a more secure operating system. But when stripped to the bare bones and thrown into the wild, wild Web, Vista's security failed to impress Test Center engineers"

Hope all goes well. Good luck!
Definatly XP. Not only because windows vista needs 2gb of ram to run efficiantly, but not a lot of games are compatible with vista yet. Go with XP for sure.
