My CdRom is not working, does anyone know what I need to do to fix it? I have an HP Pavillion with Windows XP.

Answers:
Cd roms are easy just swap it with another and restart your computer will do the rest. It may just be dirty
There's many possibilities with your problem you're asking. Firstly, you should check from device manager in control panel, is it installed? If no cd rom device listed, then you should check the cables, both power and data cable. If the cables are connected and listed in device manager, may be you should replace with the other cd rom drive. I hope my answer could help.
When you describe your trouble more clearly, i can give more solutions available.
goto [Start], then [Run], then type in: Regedit
Now goto: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then under that tab goto: SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Control, Class
now goto:

Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters"]
Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete ONLY the data values.
Now Exit Registry and Restart your PC
