Gegabyte Megabyte ?

I have 1.25 GB of freespace... if im trying to install something that is 70MB do i have enough room?

I know absolutely nothing about computers so is a GB bigger than a MB and if it is how many GB do you think I will have left after the download?

Answers:
Smallest amount of space is 1 byte
1 Kb (kilobyte) is about 1000 bytes.
1 Mb (megabyte) is about 1000 Kb
1 Gb (gigabyte) is about 1000 Mb

So 70Mb is way smaller than 1.25 Gb
Ummm.yeah. You have 1000 megabytes in a gigabyte.
1 Gigabyte is 1,000 megabytes. Yes you have enough space.
Quick and dirty approximate space info:

Smallest amount of space is 1 byte
1 Kb (kilobyte) is about 1000 bytes.
1 Mb (megabyte) is about 1000 Kb
1 Gb (gigabyte) is about 1000 Mb

So 70Mb is way smaller than 1.25 Gb

Having said that however, you can't fill up your hard drive and run (or run very well). 1.25Gb isn't very much free space on a drive. Please consider clearing some stuff off, getting a second hard drive, or getting a bigger hard drive and cloning your stuff onto it.
yes because gigabytes are bigger than megabytes. plus your computer would probably tell you if you didn't have enough room.
Yes, you have enough room. 1,000 MB make up one GB and 1,000 GB equal a TB (TERABYTE). I would buy an external hard drive soon if I were you. It's not good to overload your PC.
1 gigabyte = 1 024 megabyte
since you have 1.25GB you would have 1280 MB.
after you use 70 MB you would be left with 1210 MB or
1.18GB(rounded to the nearest tenth)
yes you will have enough space
yes you have enough room and to teach you a little bit:

a Gigabyte is 1000 Megabytes and you will have 1.18 Gigabytes left

Hope this helps!
In the order of size it goes as thusly
bit = 1
nibble = 4bits
byte = (b) 8bits
kilobyte (Kb) = 1024bytes
megabyte (Mb) = 1024 kilobytes
gigabyte (Gb) = 1024 megabytes
etc...

So following the above information 70Mb is smaller than 1.2Gb (or ~853Mb)
there is acctually 1024 megabites in a gigabyte, so yeah ur good,
the smallest increments is a bit, 8 bits is a byte
1024 bytes ina kilabyte
1024 kilabytes in a megabyte
1024 megabytes in a gigabyte
1024 gigabytes in a terabyte
