I just bought Titan Quest ( for PC) and whenever I play it, it runs very slow and the mouse jerks around.?

My computer meets all the needs, and most over the needs( like video card and RAM) but my mouse just moves then stops, while I am trying to click on something in the game. Can someone help?? Im ususally good with this stuff but I can't figue it out! Thanks!

The first thing I'd try is to exit any other programs that might be running in the background (including but not limited to screen savers).

If all else fails, you may have to knock the graphics down a bit in your game. I know you hate doing that, but I've found many times that will do the trick. A smooth running game is MUCH better than a super-pretty one with choppy action!

Good luck.
minimum specs will do that, also close out all background apps you have ruinning. and turn down visual effects
You computer may meet the minimum requirement to play the game but keep in mind these are minimum requirements the game will still have issues. Try in game options like removing shadows or detail level on a lower level. Also stop all unnecessary programs from running in the background. They tend to take up memory the game needs. Anti virus programs for example are great to have on your computer but consume alot of resources to run.
Titan Quest runs smooth as silk on my laptop. Are you using a mouse connected to the PC or a wireless one? Check the batteries. Will you try to slightly overclock the graphics card to see if that improves performance or maybe turn down the options to see if it improves the game. Also, have you checked if your hdd has plenty of space, since it may also be using the HDD for virtual ram if you don't have enough RAM allocated to the game (esp with Vista). Lastly clean your PC for more space and defrag the machine to optimise performance.
Try this to make TQ run in low priority, it has helped others.
Open Notepad and copy-and-paste the following exactly as written:

@echo off

start "" /low "Titan Quest.exe"

As you can see, this does not contain any malicious code that will send your computer into critical meltdown. Save this file as anything you want within the same directory as Titan Quest.exe (I believe this is usually C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest), as long as it ends with .bat - in my case I have named it "tq_low_priority.bat", and change the desktop shortcut so that it points to this new file instead of Titan Quest.exe directly, so that you may still use the desktop shortcut (you may also change the shortcut icon via right-click -> Properties if you get the yellow gear icon and would like the TQ icon). Double-click it and see if your problem is solved. I hope it works for you as well!

P.S. - Be aware that you will not be able to use this 'fix' when selecting to run the game from the automatic menu that comes up when you insert the CD (as it will not be using the batch file to launch the game).
