I only bought an external HD, and I can't copy files larger than 4GB to it because it is in the Fat32 format. I do not want to format it to NTFS because I freshly started to use linux, and I would like to be capable of use my hard drive on my window XP and Linux.
I have hear of ext3, are there any restrictions on that format, can I use it contained by windows, and how can I format my not easy drive like that.
Answer:
u can use it on linux, u will enjoy the read write ability if u install ntfs3g on linux,
u can use the ext3 on window with read write dexterity if you install the ext3 driver on windows
the both work, i tried individually ;)
