Graphic card and driver problem@!@!?
My games stopped working recently (even maplestory) idk if it is a drivers issue or a graphics card issues most games come up as wierd colors (cant see anything) but maple story come up but I cant type in my login name it's so laggy. So the question is how do I fix this and if its with a new graphics card which one.
also my friend has a AU31 motherboared from e machine and i need to no what graphic cards he can get thanks

Ok, the AU31 motherboard is manufactured by FIC for emachines, but if you went to the FIC website you would not find any representation for the motherboard because it is a hybrid made specifically for emachine's use. This motherboard has a built in video graphics processor on board that shares system memory for processing graphical output from the system memory pool. The motherboard also offers an addon slot for an AGP video card. There isn't any spec's on the AGP slot so I am guessing its only a 2x or maybe a 4x support AGP slot.
If he is currently using the video support that is built into the motherboard (you can tell this by where the monitor cable attaches to the computer, if the cable attaches near the keyboard/mouse connections he is using the onboard video, if the monitor connects below the sound connections he is using the AGP slot). In either case, I would recommend replacing and/or installing a new AGP video card with dedicated video memory like this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/... . But he can always goto a local store like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc and acquire an AGP video card there too.
Once he installs the new video card, make sure he goes to the website for the appropriate drivers for the card type and operating system being used. For Radeon cards goto: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html... , for Nvidia cards goto: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/dr... . Follow the instructions on those pages and download the most current video drivers, don't use the ones that come on the CD with the card as they tend to be out of date when you buy them.
PCIe graphics card. and if y ou wanna do something else.call the people who made yer computer (dell.hp.sony) and ask them about you graphics card. i had similar problem
go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager scroll down to display adapters click on the + sign to open you will see you graphics card. Right click on it and update drivers.
If this don't work
go through the same procedure only this time uninstall the drivers and shut down your system.
Restart the system and it will automatically reload the drivers for you.
If this don't work open the left side of the tower and physically remove the card and reinstall it
restart the computer and reload the drivers(automatic) and see if this helps if not its the graphics card and it needs replaced.
as for your friend he will just have to check out different cards specs and see if they fit his MOBO specs.
