Bought unusual pc beside sata hdd. Put in elder wdc 320g hdd with sata adapter but notebook will not assign drive to it(it was e on infirm pc which is one of my 2 DVD drives). The system know its there and device superintendent says its working ok but cannot read or write nor see it contained by explorer. How do i get round problem? Tried external luggage - guaranteed to work via usb but doesn't.

Can you see if it's visable in the storage cubicle / disk management contained by control panel / administrative tools.
Then report back.
Does the SATA adapter require the drive to be set as master, not slave? Check your pullover links...
make sure your jumper are set properly and then if it is look within disk management if it is recongisied within there assign it a unmarked letter close to M or something so its well clear of any other drive post and that should clear it
All SATA drives are set as master, they cannot be set as slave.
