How Do You Tell If VideoCard Is On Highest Setting?

I recently bought a EVGA 7950GT KO Superclocked 512mb Video Card. I know this is a higher end card, but i still seem to be having problems getting high settings on some simpler games. I know when i first installed it i had some power issues, and had to buy another power supply. When i first installed it said it needed to reduce quality to make sure my system was not damaged. I now have a new power supply, so how do i see/ makesure my video card is running at "full power" as it were? Thanks!

now here is things you need to know.

first of all, you have bought this card not knowing if your monitor will go up to the resolutions of the card. some monitors max out at 1024x768 your card may go up to say 1200x1200 , if thats the case you have wasted your money, unless you buy a high resolution monitor to match the card...

you can test it by placing your mouse on the desktop and right mouse click and go into settings, and change your resolution to the highest there is that is if you have install the drivers for the card
try using device manager on windows...i'm not sure where you can find it but you can always search
