The usual, why cant I get my Pc to do this?

Ok you geeks dont laugh or roll your eyes I have an E-Machine Mdl T-3302 AMD Sempron 3300+ @ 2.0Ghz, 512 Mb SDRAM and it performs adequately Windows XP paltform, and here is my sitch. Graphics. The PC is equiped with a VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP (PCI Bus) display card Adapter Ram 64 Mg's. My problem is I can not run cames that require a Vodoo 3d graphics of Nforce (i think) video.

I want to run my interplay (descent 3) games and I would even like to have the demo to doom 3 (i downloaded) and I cant run them. Is there a patch or a device driver I need to get my graphice display to run tese things. Also I have an AGP slot on my board, but I dont have an AGP card. I assume my graphihics adapter is hard wired on the mother board as well.

any help would be appreciated.

God Bless

That onboard graphics adapter is only powerful enough to get away with some minor 3D rendering.

This is why you are having issues with games such as Decent and Doom 3. They both require more powerful video cards.

The plus side is that you have AGP. This is a dedicated Graphics port that will allow you to install a better video card into your machine and be able to play games such as Doom 3.

As long as you buy a Geforce 6000 series or ATI X series or newer you will not have any more problems.
Well at this point your best option is to get an agp graphics card...they are cheap now since PCIe is taking over, with 64megs for graphics, you wouldnt even be able to load the doom main menu, much less play it at any framerate more that 2fps
As you've already discovered, your integrated Graphics processor isn't powerful enough to render the games/demo's you're trying to play.
You're going to need an AGP graphics card (as your PC already has a connection for one).
I won't make any recommendations as, well, always the faster the better. Buy one that suit's your pocket (but is also powerful enough to meet the needs of the games you're trying to run).
Get an AGP video card, onboard video chips and even PCI video cards will not play advanced games.
You will be amazed at the difference, even in the games you can play now.

I sugest you go on afterdawn.com
You will find something there
please try upgrading ur grapics card driver from VIA or try this right clik on my computer select properties from there select Hardware
from there select device manger
in device manager under display adpter (expand it using the + sign) right click and select properties
in properties (make sure u r connected to internet before continuing) select upgrade driver if there is a newer edition for ur graphics it will upgrade. try ur luck by trying to play

But on a really serious note 64 mb of graphics is not sufficient for modern day games so i guess u can forget about doom3 unless u buy a new graphics card u can go for low end card which comes cheap these days but opt only for an nVidia or ATi card they are the leaders in GCards so most games will work on them.
Best of luck..
Good grief, Bob! I'm still trying to figure out how my new weed eater works. You sound like either of my two sons who do that stuff for a living. On that subject, one of them asked me recently (while I was asking him a computer question), if I agreed that there were some people who should not be allowed to drive a car. I agreed. He then proceeded to tell me that there also should be some people (meaning me) who should not be allowed to operate a computer! Therefore, I'm just checking in to say hello. Good luck with your problem -- whatever it is.
