Can my computer overheat due to the room's warmth?
Answer:
yes, laptops repeatedly overheat, and there are no settings you can amend to prevent it from shutting down when it does, this is a built in piece to protect your computer from permenant damage:
A few tips:
1. dont put it on your nouns, your legs can block the air vent, put it on a desk and make sure the aficionado and air vent are clear,
2. set up a small fan that blows across your computer, the desk below the computer will get hot and the follower will help thieve that heat out from underneath it
3. make sure adjectives of the rubber pads on the bottom are still within place, these keep your computer slightly above the desk so near is clearance for air to move
4. listen to the enthusiast, when it ramps up to top speed it mechanism your computer is getting hot, try moving it to a cooler spot on the desk and give it a break from solid processing tasks
5. don't run too many programs at once, listen to music, watching videos or have lots of programs running causes your computer to work harder and produce more roast
yes. tell your roommate to man up and turn on the A/C
It sure can. There is no adherent on a laptop, so it definitely can overheat.
you might want to point a small devotee at the vents. my laptop overheats too and i estimate it is kindof a common problem.
i also find that elevating the spinal column of the laptop so that air can escape more freely help. right now i am proping mine up beside a remote control. :)
Yes this can definately cause the computer to overheat. But another more probable possibility is that your laptop is full up up with dust within its heat sinks. Go out and buy a can of compressed nouns and spray out the fans on the bottom and the vent holes on the sides and spinal column of the laptop. Good Luck HTH.
p.s. Lisa - No Fan on a laptop? You shouldn't be answering these types of questions.
Yes, processor's own a max temperature that they will operate at, exceed it, and the 'puter will shut down. Blowing it out near a can of compressed air will give a hand, as dust will not let the warmth dissipate. Try this, and maybe a porthole fan blowing on it will abet, until the AC issue is resolved,(if!).
Too much heat will ruin your little pooter, maintain it COOL.
Laptops should be elevated slightly at the fan nouns underneath,
so hot air can be exhausted more slickly by the fan.
Computer stores vend accessories that do only that.
If using AC most of the time, I would remove the battery.
It can get hold of hot if on a constant charge.
