Realibility between conventional hard drives & memory drives(memory stick or flash stick)?
Answers:
Because solid-state (flash) drives have no moving parts, they are inherently better than rotating disk drives, due to mechanical failure alone, and are less prone to shock damage (dropping the drive).
Neither!
Burn them to CD/DvD and store them in a cool dry place.
Don't overlook the obvious!

Well I would think that the harddrive would be best for you if you are worried about losing data. I have already lost one memory stick and another simply went kaput on me.
I have an external harddrive of 40GB that I keep my important files on and it stays home. I also carry a memory stick with me at all times but I know that if something happens to that stick I have my data at home on my external harddrive which I try to back up often.
I agree with Avatarxz burn them. hard drives are susceptiable to electro-magnetic interference, can go bad and only last a few years. Drop one and it's gone.
Flash drives are problematic. I've had a few thumb drives die on me after regular use. Simply bending it can destroy the media and make it unusable.
Do consider the fate of the floppy disk. Many people 5 years ago would back up everything to a floppy disk. Now you have to pay extra to get one installed in your computer. Some retailers have quit selling both common formats of floppy disks altogether due to the low price of CD media and long term Internet storage.
How about simply email those files to your Yahoo or Gmail account? Both provide 'infinite' storage and will likely be avaiable for a long time.
