I purchased a Dell on eBay and paid only $199 the only issue is that it has external optimal drives (CD ROM). I saw others selling with the items you want on yours for $300-$500. If you decide to go the eBay route, be careful, some of them come with no operating system. I would recommend reading the listing in full before bidding to make sure they have a return policy that is acceptable to you.
Affordable as in quality to cost ratio? Or price tag (which you'll be no smarter then a 2nd grader if you choose this)?
If you want a good lbs/$ then go for an Apple laptop. (Look at my other answers).
They actually have quality and are actually cheaper than your average WinPC if you configure a WinPC to the exact same spec as an Apple computer. It's like buying 1 CocaCola for 1$ or buying 6 for 2$. It's just common sense.
The laptop with the best quality that is affordable is a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092.
