What could I do to upgrade my latop. I have a HP dv5000?

You are pretty much limited to the memory as far as upgrading. To upgrade the processor or graphics card will most likely mean replacing the motherboard, in which case you may want to look at a new computer instead. Depending on what you want your computer to do, upgrading the memory is probably the most significant upgrade you can make.
i have about 300 programs on my pc and about 150 on my laptop. IM me and i can give you lots of program ideas, upgrades, in many ways are programs that are expensive. (but ill show you how to get it for free)
You'll be hard pressed to upgrade a laptop past the RAM segment. There really isn't anything else unless you want to void the warranty and tear apart your laptop. A laptop isn't supposed to upgraded like a PC is.
On a laptop you're pretty much stuck with what you have you can upgrade your RAM and harddrive and sometimes the graphic card if it isnt intergrated, oh and the OS
you can upgrade the video card, processor, your current BISO settings and your current os to vista
It all depends if you want to void the warranty. If that's ok you can take off the cover and add a bigger hard drive (make sure you get one that is made for lappers though.
If you don't want to void the warranty you can always do an external hard drive, a dual monitor, a longer batter, a better wireless card, if you don't have a CD/DVD burning you can switch those out as well.
Consult your warranty agreement just to be sure!
