If I where you I would get a windows XP HP laptop. I wouldn't get a Vista yet because right now they have to many bugs in them. I would get through an XP first then get a Vista

Ur budget is a bit less...If u have a friend in US, it would be great, since they can get a higher config laptop for ur budget than wats possible here...

If ur usage is just limited to wireless internet, then u can go for a laptop. If u r a serious gamer then i wud recommend dat u go for a desktop. coz laptops with de range of price u r looking for r not made for gamin.. those are for daily use. high end gamin laptops cost more.. I wud recommend Dell's XPS range of notebooks. they r made for gamers and high end use.
