Laptop OS password/boot question...?
I do not know the password, I do not have any other bootable disks in it (no floppy drive or CD-ROM), and the BIOS does not support booting from USB. So other than purchasing a floppy disk drive, CD-ROM, or new H.D. w/ O.S., is there anything else that I've missed that might be able to be done to get passed this point?
Thanks!

boot up in safe mode and use the administrative account to access and change/delete the password.
a second method, it to run the belarc advisor from belarc.com and save write down the code for the windows version installed. you can then use any same os (xp pro for xp pro, xp media ed for xp media ed os) and do a new/repair install of the os. the key is what you need to have. any same os cd will work since the key is attached to the pc and is NOT on the cd. microsoft uses the key to "mark" the pc in it's records by associating a specific key to the pc. i have xp pro and my key can only install on this pc, but the cd will install on any pc IF it has a vialid key to do the installation. my key is already assigned to my pc and will not validate another pc.
when its the logon screen push ctrl+alt+delete 2times and for the username type in administrator hit enter volah! exept if they set a password for it!
Why bother, doesn't sound much good if it doesn't have at least a cd rw drive!
How are you going to install programs without some way of getting them on there?.
And a broken keyboard as well!
