Laptop(AJP) keeps telling me to switch to outlet power when I am already on it.?

It sounds like there is an issue with the AC adapter connecting into the port on the laptop. It is a common problem on laptops.
Have a look at it yourself and see if anything looks 'broken' on port you plug the AC adapter into. If it is you'll need to either get it fixed under warranty, or take it to a local good quality repair shop, they'll solder the pins back into their correct position. However, be warned it is a reoccuring fault.
Or it could be a 'dying AC adapter' though I always thought they went with a whizz and bang, it could be that it has occured some kind of fault.
Worse scenario the control unit on the motherboard that sensers when a battery needs charging could of had it, but then I doubt it would charge at all (after its been turned off) and that could mean a motherboard replacement.
An old laptop of mine has got to the point where the wire from the adapter needs to be 'tight' for it to notice its there, I literally wrap it around the laptop, before I could just wiggle it a bit, however this laptop has no value to me, so I do whatever I can it working when I want to use it (mainly for storage now). This will make the problem worse, so I don't advise it.
TRY this, take the battery out and see if you get a power light when you plug it into the mains electricity. IF no light it's the power adapter, buy a new one on Ebay.
