How do I hook my laptop into my desktop's broadband internet connection? when I tried it asked for a password
Answers:
Well, don't you have a password? If you don't you certainly should. That means you have little or no security on your wireless, which also means you might not be the only laptop using your broadband. Either call your router manufacturer, or call your broadband ISP. Either way, you should set up WPA security, which prevents anyone but you from logging on by pinging and picking up a stray signal.
call your provider, i had the same problem and they talked me through it
You need to get that password, whoever set up your broadband internet should know it.
If your broadband router is not connected to a Wireless Router, the Network Setup Wizard should not be asking you to supply a Password. It would only do this if you are running a Wireless network.
Re-start the Network Setup Wizard and make sure your answering the questions it asks, correctly.
