Am I going to get better performance by Upgrading the RAM in my Sony Notebook?

I have PCG-K23 notebook. The problem with this baby is, it gets very noicy when I play Intensive Games like MS Flight Sim 2004, Age Of Empires 3 and Call of duty. I get horrible fram rates while playing games. Is there anyway I can solve this problem. My VIDEO drives is upto date. I get two 512MB RAM would it actually improve my game performance?

Answers:
RAM will help. But noise/heat and bad frame-rate suggest that your processor and/or graphics card is the problem. (The processor has to pick up what the graphics card can't handle.)

But, upgrading the processor and graphics card on a laptop is usually not worth it. If you must game, get a brand new gaming machine.
More RAM will definitely help you multitask much better, and your games will probably run a bit better. Don't expect any miracles, though.
This could also be because of a slow processor. If more RAM doesn't make a difference, then the easiest soulution would be to get a more powerful notebook.
If your notebook can support 2 GB of ram memory and you have at least XP on it than it will help some. Laptops/notebooks not the best gaming machines if you are concerned about frame rates you need to go Desk top
Extra ram can improve things a bit. I hope your graphics card is doing it's stuff also. My desktop had a 512mb RAM running XP on a GEF6600GT but when I increased it to 1.5Gb RAM, the whole rig started to fly. I think extra ram helps, but you got to see if your graphics card is not the one that's pulling performance downwards. Does your hardware support those games amply? The games are a bit old compared to latest games but if you're a games fanatic like some of us are, then a desktop with a good graphics card is better at this then a laptop. I got the FE48G Core 2 Duo, 2GbRAM & 7600 GS but I still think the performance for playing games is sub-par compared with my desktop which is only an Athlon 2.16 Ghz but it beats the Sony laptop with one hand tied behind and really, laptops are not meant for games even if they are touted as 'game ready'.
