The touchpad on my new Toshiba laptop sudeently stopped working. How do I fix it?

I don't know why it started doing this. It's only one week old. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Synaptics pointing device. Maybe I uninstalled it or did something wrong. I don't know what to do. I need help.

Sometimes, the touchpad is disabled by a certain key combination. It is the "Fn" key plus one of the "F" keys at the top. I can't remember off the top of my head which key, though (because I'm using a desktop right now).
GO TO DEVICE MANAGER CHECK IF YOU HAVE ANY !!! RED OR YELLOW WARNINGS
their is a button to turn it on and off
yeah, that guy was right. its Fn and F9. Make sure it is in enabled. i had the same problem, but not anymore. and having the problem makes researching it rather difficult...
