What is the best laptop i can get for between £500-£650. ($1000-$1300)?

Im a student going to university in a few weeks, and i want to buy a new laptop but there is so much choice out there that i am confused. so i want advice whats the best i can get for my money. between £500-£650. ($1000-$1300).

They have many reviews on laptops, as well as a friendly forum where you can fill out a form on what you'll be using your laptop for and users will make recommendations.

In my opinion, look for a 14.1" or 15.4" laptop. Anything larger will be heavy to carry around, anything smaller will be more expensive and most likely less powerful. If it comes with Windows Vista, make sure it has 2GB of RAM as Vista uses a lot of resources. Get something that has a decent battery life too.
