my computer has had a prob i have never split anythink but it shots about after 20 mins i have been told it is NOT the motherboard??

It sounds like your laptop is overheating. Are you running demanding processes like video gaming? Make sure your laptop is getting plenty of air. If you know how, open the case and clean out the inside from dust, etc.. with a can of air. Specifically, clean off the heatsink. Also, you should be running more than 512KB of RAM. This might help. You could also buy a docking station to help keep it cool. Good luck!
