*****Laptop question****?
i am about to purchase a new laptop, preferably the new DELL inspiron 1521. I am also about to move to Taiwan for 1 year and would really love to know if computers are really much cheaper over there and if they are, how much cheaper approx. I would obviously postpone this purchase if I discovered this price difference was significant so if anyone has any idea of prices over there, i would really appreciate it, thanks,,,,,

hey, not really sure on this, but, dependeing on where you are from, this like computers are in other languages and do not work with games and software and things of that sort out side that country. like xbox games in usa will not play on systems in japan. dvds in other countrys will not play in dvd players from usa. as far as I know this is tru, but not, you should look into it.
im pretty sure the price in Taiwan is much cheaper then america because it it is a different country.
its much cheaper over in Taiwan...assuming you convert USD into TWD (according to my source i listed). So id say to postpose your purchase and buy it in taiwan to save your money
I'd ask your contacts in Taiwan about it, because they'd be the most likely to know. Of course, any computer you buy in Taiwan will have Windows installed in Mandarin or Taiwanese, which would mean you would have to re-install Windows, which can take several hours.
I would think if you are buying a Dell, they are the same price where ever you buy them. Dell controls the pricing.. they are the only ones that sell them. I did find a link to Taipei for shopping you might want to check it out.
