why would you want vista?
strip it and install xp pro sp2
it will run much faster than the same laptop with vista
Well, let's see...I'd suggest the following setup:
1.7GHZ dual-core processor (trust me, if you don't game you'll be absolutely thrilled with the smoothness of dual-core)
at least 1GB RAM
200GB hard drive
128mb graphics card (integrated and not optimized for gaming, as that would cost you money you don't need to spend)
However, I would not recommend buying a laptop with Vista, because they come with only 1GB of RAM by default. Vista on 1GB is NOT A GOOD THING (runs sluggishly). Shoot for a laptop with Windows XP, it'll cost you less anyway.
The new Toshiba is the best, and get it with Vista Ultimite it should have everything that you need
Alien Ware
You can get them with tera bite hard drives. And more than enough RAM to run any program you want and as many as you want at one time.
The dell 1420 would be a good choice, you can get top options including a core 2 duo CPU, 2GBS of RAM, and a NV 8400 GC. It comes with a 160GB HD. Very easy to customize in a sturdy alloy case.
