Creating new partition on dell inspiron 6400 laptop?

you can use 3rd party applications such as partition magic pro
that will do the trick, please bare in mind... dell will attempt to void your warranty if you alter their settings (preman partitions with backup info) so dont go deleting any partitions you may come across once you have pmp running.
Use Partition magic 7, not 8, dload from torrent sites

What size is your hard drive and what size are all the partitions on it? In other words, are you trying add a partition on an existing hard drive that has unallocated space, or you trying to shrink the existing partition and create a new one?
