Hi there all,Can anyone help/ have an old laptop with windows 98 and it won't boot. nothing happens?
Can anyone help? I have an old laptop with windows 98 and it won't boot. nothing happens other than a few beeps and a blank screen. It did work andnow it doesn't. I have tried
going through everything I know but to no avail.
I bought a floppy disk from ebay and it seems to be doing something except it asks for the COA number for the OS. I have no idea what this is as I got the laptop second hand with no disks, so...
Does anyone have a list of COA keys which might work?
Also, is this the right thing to be doing?
Is there any other way to fix this problem??
I have no systems disks and the computer does nothing when it boots up. Any help appreciated.
regards 2 all,

personally,I would declare it dead, but,if you have the stamina, you can find something like laptop exchange or another rapair shop where you live that might work on it. its usually about 60 bux when you bring it in just for them to look at laptops, and then what ever the parts are.
looks like u need some help
drop me a email
The beeps are the memory post's which sound ok to me try getting someone to reinstall an operating system on it if they can't then it could be something wrong with motherboard.
It oculd be either a motherboard problem, or more unusually, but still possibly, RAM problem which happened to me. I'd never heard of that problem before but I had RAM which died.
