I'm considering buying this laptop on Ebay. Is it possible to upgrade it from 80GB hard drive to 160GB?

Core 2 Duo is better and yes, you can upgrade your HDD to 160gb. Though it would be better to just buy an external HDD.
Just a friendly FYI, Alienware computers are horribly overpriced, I'd try one of these sites for a good, cheap, gaming laptop. www.ibuypower.com or www.cyberpowerinc.com.
