Between the two...Acer. HP builds great printers, but poor PCs. Acer's PC business is growing exponentially for a reason.
HP = Cost More, But Better Brand
Acer = Cheap_er, But Not As Good Lucking Brand
So Overall, I would Have HP. There Products Look So Much Better.

I have a acer which is great even has great features but MAKE SURE WHICHEVER YOU GET DO NOT GET VISTA INSTALLED. Im so serious. Im in a IT Admin for a school. All the faculty and administration got acer laptops . It has been the worst headache. Freezes constantly and takes forever just to start a program after u click on it. Its not the laptop its Vista. It would be a compeletely awesome laptop if it had Xp on it. No bullshit just trying to help.

HP is the top seller of LTs by far offering great value and choice. Acer is most known in the US for it's budget models.
