Hard drive failure and replacement - now can't recover?

Replaced the hard drive in my Compaq EVO N610c laptop and put in the first of 2 recovery disks. Error message says recovery disks are XP and sticker on bottom of machine says Windows 2000 was loaded. What can I do??

Answers:
Or, you could just install from a regular Windows XP installation disk set then download the drivers for you laptop and install them. You may need to download the network drivers from another computer and burn them to disk to install on laptop so that you can finish installing the remainder of the drivers from the web on the laptop.
call the manufacturer support line
Go ahead and do it, I have done that plenty of times on three separate computers and they never asked me for the Product Key, But MAKE SURE THEY BELONG TO YOUR MACHINE it isn't normal that that happens. If it doesn't belong to it, you might install it with the wrong drivers that make your internet, and sound work. SO double check! or just get a copy of windows me and install the drivers yourself
