Satellite notebooks operate through a satellite linkage for a modem...it can be intermittent due to weather and satellite locations, & it has a large separate antenna.

I'm assuming you are referring to Toshiba's satellite series.
There is no difference. If I'm correct in your assumption Satellite is just a model of Toshiba laptops/notebooks.

Toshiba makes the Satellite, and it means nothing. It's just the model name; just like Dell makes the Inspiron, and Toshiba makes the Satellite.
