My Toshiba laptop is saying it has no audio device, even though it has built in speakers! What's going on?

I've tried using headphones and the speakers from my basic-bodied PC, and I've gone through the whole tutorial that you get after troubleshooting, but still nothing has worked. All it says is 'No Audio Device' which causes me to not be able to change the sound or device settings, but it has built in speakers! I've seen many other people with sound problems and looked at their answers, but none of them worked. I also when to ToshibaHW but I didn't recognize anything for audio. T_T I don't know what to do, I've run out of ideas, and I really need sound! Please help!

Answers:
Assuming you are running XP, go into Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and look for any device that has a yellow triangle with an "!". This will at least tell you if XP recognized the device, but just couldn't find the driver. If this is the case, then you will need to download the audio driver from the Toshiba website.

Hope this helps, email me if you need further assistance.

Good luck!
go to www.toshiba.com and download the audio drivers for your model and reinstall it
