Shouldn't be a problem. I've left mine on for a few days straight.
Just don't leave it on a soft surface, like your bed or the carpeting. Laptops need to be on a hard flat surface to help get rid of heat. (for this reason, I wouldn't recommend putting the laptop on your lap either ;-)

Should be fine to leave it on overnight. If it overheats all that will happen is the laptop will turn itself off.
I wouldn't suggest doing it too often, but once in a while, if the vents under the device are clear, then it should be fine. I also suggest putting it in "Sleep" mode.
You can leave it on but if its not plugged in the battery will probably die.
I recommend, however, at least putting it in "standby" mode. That way it won't get as hot.
go to start, click shut down, but then when a couple other options pop up just click 'stand by' or 'sleep' then you dont have to shut it all the way down, but its better for ur laptop.

it will overheat and it will make the laptop mess up real bad! I would turn it off every night.
dont leave it on... put it on hibernate if you have to, but obviously a computer isnt as new and isnt as powerful the longer you leave it on, one of my friends left his on for 6 days and it was going really really slow.
I do it all the time -- your laptop resorts to screensaver, then a "hibernate" option when it's not in use. When closed and plugged into the wall, it will go right to hibernate and "sleep" until you need it again.
if there is nothing in the way of the fans and it is a reasonably cool room then there should be no problem. have fun :)

Yeah, you can definitely leave it on overnight, just remember to charge it. Many people do it these days. Just leave it somewhere steady and hard, and somewhere that doesn't catch fire easily.

i wouldn't because it woud run down the battery and when you need it the next day it will probably run out on you so i wouldn't leave it on overnight instead i would turn it off and charge it all night or overnight! hope i helped:).!
Best to turn it off when you aren't using it. If it's on 24/7 you are wearing it out unnecessarily..
I do i just put it like in a way were the bottom center of the laptop is free were it "breathe" but i do that cause i leave my laptop downloading.you can also put it to hibernate that jus puts it to sleep.
