Packard bell easynoteb wont stay switched on, how do i rectify fault?
Answers:
It sounds like a boot sector fault to me. It is easy to fix if you have the install disks, then you need to insert the disk and select the drive to be bootable then reinstall the boot sector it should take about a half hour.
If you are unable to do this yourself, then I hope you have a friend to help you :)
I don't think you would get that far with a boot sector problem. You are probably stuck in a Windows restart on system error loop. Since Windows 2000 does not have System Restore, I suggest you seek professional help.
It sounds as though it could be your internal fan that is not working correctly and causing it to overheat. My last packard bell had this problem as the stingy B**stards at packard bell only gave the computer a power supply unit big enough to cope with. Packard bells are cheap machines using cheap parts and after having 2 of their machines I would not buy another one at any price. Stay away from packard bell and advent who are made by them. Buy a decent brand name at the cheaper end of the market like acer or toshiba.
